Are you interested in the Winter Olympics?

The Winter Olympics has begun and it is very exciting! The first time I watched the Winter Olympics was over 20 years ago when it was held in Nagano, Japan. I didn’t know much about the events at the time but I was very impressed to see the athletes compete and do their best. In this post, I’ll introduce a few of my favorite events and what I’m excited to see this time!
Curling
Curling is a sport in which players have to slide stones on ice and try to get close to a target area. It is played by two competing teams and each team has four players/members. Whichever team gets the highest points, wins the game. I remember closely following the Japanese women’s team 4 years ago during the Pyeongchang Games. Although they couldn’t win a medal, I was inspired by their dedication and skill.
Bobsleigh
Bobsleigh is an event that involves teams of 2 or 4 people speeding down a course in a sleigh to get the best time. The team that is able to complete the course in the shortest amount of time is the winner. Have you ever seen a movie called Cool Runnings? It was the first time for me to see this event. Cool Runnings is about the first Jamaican team to enter the Winter Olympics. They did their best and made the people of Jamaica very proud. It is a very funny movie so I recommend you watch it.
Figure Skating
Figure skating is a sport in which individuals or pairs perform on ice. Judges evaluate the skaters skills, transitions, performance and interpretation. I remember when Hanyu Yuzuru got the gold medal 4 years ago. His performance was very beautiful and Elegant.
Excited to see
In Winter Olympics, I’m looking forward to watching Ice-Hockey. It is very dynamic, exciting and the rules are similar to soccer, which I like. I have also heard that Japan has a very strong team this time so I wish them the best.
